Gordon Aubrecht

Aubrecht does Physics Education Research at Ohio State. His Ph.D. is from Princeton University (Woodrow Wilson Fellow) in theoretical particle physics. He was a Humboldt Fellow in Germany (1979-80). He is former chair of the Contemporary Physics Education Project, secretary of IEEE Stds Coord. Comm. 14, & Executive Secretary of the InterAmerican Council on Physics Education. Aubrecht is a fellow of APS and AAAS. He received the AAPT Distinguished Service Citation (1996), the Hart Award of the S. Ohio Sect-AAPT (2003), the Maxwell Award from the Ohio Sect-APS (2004) and the Nemzer Award from OSU-AAUP (2004). Aubrecht is author of the textbook, Energy, and several other books as well as many articles in refereed journals and conference proceedings. He has taught over 340 undergraduate and graduate courses. He is president of OSU-AAUP.  He has run about 50 local, national, and international workshops for high school and college teachers. He resides in Delaware (Ohio) with his wife.

Energy expert Dr. Aubrecht illustrates that we cannot afford to continue our use of fossil fuels contributing to the disasterous effects climate change.  He asserts that we need to bridge to the day we can rely exclusively on solar power.  That energy is nuclear energy.
