Jennifer Adams, maiden name McGee, is the founder and sole proprietor of J Adams Photography (LLC). Specializing in portraits that expose ones inner beauty. She is dedicated to strengthening and empowering the underrepresented through positive imagery. Self taught at the age of 14, her talents have taken her all over the country and abroad. Through her gifts, research, and speaking engagements she helps educators, students, parents, and concerned citizens understand the landscape of imagery and perception and their role in transforming it.
Prior to focusing on her company Ms. Adams served on administrative staff for the Kroger Corporate office in the Technology department for five years. She has volunteered with the Franklin County Children Services, Malaika Program where she was a Big Sister for several years. Ms. Adams organized a workshop that focused on social skills and interaction for mothers and their tween daughters, W.E.E Girls (Women Empowering Each Girl). Active with her church, she spearheaded many youth programs and self esteem workshops. Currently she is a facilitator with Women Generating. As an artist it is important to be aware of how one person can impact many, Ms. Adams is diligent about serving her community through the arts and awareness.
Passionate about fair representation, she has created a photographic series entitled “Beauty Of Black Men” Which focuses on the Untelevised images of Black Men and Boys. She has taken this project as far as Europe spreading the message of the human side of Black males. The series is currently touring.
A lifelong resident of Columbus, Ms. Adams attended Columbus City Schools graduating from Northland High School. She is the mother of four beautiful children Steffon, Karah, Niles and Warren Adams.
