Creating a Vibrant Learning Ecosystem
What if school were treated more like an ecosystem than an institution? More geographically and virtually free to mix learning resources that meets the learner wherever they are regardless of socio-economic or other resources? What if learning was truly personalized?
Katherine will explore these and other questions about the future of learning in her talk fueled by both her professional role at KnowledgeWorks, a social enterprise focused on creating sustainable improvement in student readiness for college and careers.
As Senior Director of Strategic Foresight at KnowledgeWorks, Katherine Prince leads the organization’s work on the future of learning. Since 2007, she has helped a wide range of education stakeholders translate KnowledgeWorks’ future forecasts into forward-looking visions and develop strategies for bringing those visions to life. She also writes about what trends shaping the future of learning could mean for the learning ecosystem. Before joining KnowledgeWorks in 2006, Katherine supported large-scale changes in working practice at Britain’s Open University and helped federal agencies and other clients increase service quality by incorporating a customer perspective into their organizational planning. Katherine holds a BA in English from Ohio Wesleyan University; an MA in English from the University of Iowa; and an MBA from The Open University with emphases on creativity, innovation, and change and on knowledge management.
