CALLING ALL IDEA MAKERS: Nominations now being accepted for the 2021TEDxColumbus Salon Series

While gathering for our typical, large scale TEDxColumbus event is not possible in the near future, we know that our Columbus community has ideas to share. So we will be launching two virtual TEDxColumbusSalons in 2021, and we can’t wait. The events will feature NEW speakers and performers, all professionally recorded at WOSU studios, and beamed into your home. There will be talks, performances, and conversations spread over two events.

This is where you come in! It’s time to start looking for the next class of TEDxColumbus speakers and performers. We want to hear from you, Columbus.

Keep reading for details.

How to Nominate or Apply

We invite you to nominate yourself or someone else to speak. Every nominee must submit a 100 word description of the idea they’d like to share in addition to a 90 second video. Additional details on the selection process can be found by clicking on the nomination form.

DEADLINE for submissions is November 13 at noon.

We look forward to hearing your ideas.

What Inspires Us

TEDxColumbus aims to showcase our best and brightest thinkers, doers, and visionaries with ideas that will shatter bias, ignite creativity, and move our community to action.

This year, TEDxColumbus wants to know— What are your ideas? And how has 2020 impacted you?

  • What technology is shifting the way we interact with the world?
  • What new medical advances will save lives?
  • What art or music is changing how we think and feel?
  • What social movements are creating cultural change?
  • How are we adapting to our new realities?
  • What will our future look like?

We want to hear IDEAS that spark conversation, STORIES that spark connection, and QUESTIONS that spark debate.

As a reminder– speakers and presenters who share a distinct point of view, fueled by research, mastery or experience on one central idea, discovery, or trend are preferred.  Speakers who intend to lecture, riff, preach, or opine will not be chosen.
