Brooke Cartus is a queer activist, attorney, and stand up comedian based in Columbus, Ohio. She started her career as an opera singer in upstate New York then worked as a personal trainer and corporate wellness coach. She moved to Ohio so she could attend law school at Ohio State, and fell in love with central Ohio. Brooke works as a facilitator with ImprovEdge, creates and facilitates LGBTQ diversity training programs, and tours the country as a stand up comedian. She has emceed events for Stonewall Columbus, Equality Ohio, Kaleidoscope, The Ohio Arts League, and Planned Parenthood and volunteers at The Legal Aid Society of Ohio. Brooke’s passion for trans rights led her to be published in The Berkeley Law Journal of Gender, Law and Justice. She has also worked tirelessly to combat LGBTQ bullying in schools and locker rooms by collaborating with the Columbus Police Department as well as former NFL athletes Chris Kluwe and Wade Davis. Her premiere comedy album, Size L for Lady, was released in 2014 and is available on iTunes.
